Life in Kukmang is a typical village life, very simple but close to nature. Nature has bestowed its finest gifts on Kukmang. Here you can witness spectacular natural beauty that is lush green fields, thick forests, snow covered mountains and flowing streams.

Occupation
Male members of the families are mostly working in the urban areas, majority of them are carrying out their own small businesses of food & restaurants. Special credit goes to women in every family living in Kukmang because they, while performing their duties as mothers, wives, daughters and sisters, not only look after their children and elders but also manage their household affairs, thus becoming a strong pillar of the family.

Agriculture & Livestock
Kukmang's principal natural resources are land, water and livestock. Some of the crops which are cultivated in Kukmang are Maize crops (Makai) and Wheat. Different seasonal vegetables such as potato, tomato, chilies, Kaddu/Gourd (Lukra), Spinach, turnip and onion etc. while in fruits walnuts (Akhrot), Pear, Apples, Apricot and Plum are locally grown. Livestock consists of buffalo/cow, goat, poultry and sheep. Milk production of buffaloes is either small-scale milk production which serves the family's own needs or in some cases it is commercial milk production which helps in the generation of family's income.

Local Events & Sports
Normally people of Kukmang gather in events such as local marriage ceremonies, Eid festivals etc. Cricket is one of the most famous sports in the village. Every year the local cricket lovers organize two major cricket tournaments after Eid ul Fitr and Eid ul Azha festivals, in which all the teams of the Kukmang and its neighbour villages participate actively. The excitement and passion in these tournaments is worth watching. Local childen are experts in making a unique kind of cricket ball called Khinu, made of cloths, and due to its heavy weight it does not run down the hill no matter how hard you hit it.
